Buskathon

BUSKATHON is a fund-raising event for FUSE. Despite being run on a ridiculously tight budget, FUSE gets better every year and flourishes largely thanks to the unsung army of volunteers, who all deserve a medal!
Bruford Low is being let out of his padded cell to front BUSKATHON as a fund-raiser for FUSE. He is bringing a real upright piano...
BUSKATHON takes place on 22/23 May 2010 at Speakers Corner in Dam Street, Lichfield. It is an event of two halves:
SATURDAY 22 MAY, 8AM to 8PM:
Everyone is invited to come and busk. Folk, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Classical, Venusian Ear Singing. Whatever. Get in touch and book a slot, anything from 10 to 30 minutes. All you need is sponsorship of at least 50p per minute, so £5 minimum for 10 minutes, £10 for 20 minutes etc.
There will be a series of "Special Events" during the day: An "All-comers Beatles Hour", "Merry Christmas Everybody" and others, including "Mystery Celebrity" appearances. The final slot at 7.30pm will be the "Massed Lichfield Busketeers" - you are ALL INVITED - we want hundreds of people to join in the last 30 minutes...
SUNDAY 23 MAY, 8AM to 8PM:
Bruford will be attempting to busk for 12 hours non-stop (except for the odd comfort break). He will be ably supported by fellow musicians and singers, a back-up team including a masseuse & manicurist, and YOU! As he flags, his head dropping to the keyboard, it will be your encouragement that sees him through to the end. Bring him succour and refreshment (pork pies and Coke preferred).
If you can't be there in person to drop large denomination notes in the hat, you can contribute by sending a cheque in the post. Upfront pledges are always good to get the ball rolling. Go on, send a good old-fashioned e-mail to
