Coast To Coast Walk

One of our intrepid committee members Rob Ings 'Walked His Socks Off' to raise funds for Fuse. This is not a stroll but the 190 mile 'Coast to Coast' walk made famous by Wainwright or if you prefer 'Julia Bradbury'.
His walk started on March 20th and finished on the 3rd April, so please make a donation or sponsor him. Every penny raised will go towards Fuse 2010. This is our tenth Anniversary and Fuse has been so successful that it is now costing close to £30,000 to put on , so any financial help would be appreciated.

After a day of 23 miles flat walking it was actually nice to have the opportunity to walk up hill on grass. This soon faded when the hills started multiplying and the total altitude gained started increasing. In total there were 7 hills with a total gain in height of over 4000 ft. No wonder I felt a little tired. Still only 2 days to go with a little under 40 miles to do. We actually saw the North Sea today so we are not going round in circles !! Thanks for all the support.

The weather has not been to kind to our intrepid coast to coasters with lots of wind, rain and even hail but it hasn't put them off and they are making good progress passing the half way point yesterday morning. An extra few miles have been done due to a mess-up in the map reading department but they were in Reeth on Saturday night.

Despite difficulties getting messages because of poor mobile phone reception the lastest word on our intrepid walkers is that they are doing well despite miserable weather. The waterproofs are having a good airing and spirits are high though they are early to bed [Rob is off the vodka so he says] .
